"From the Mind's Eye" American Self Taught Art in the Twentieth Century
This collection consists of paper and moving image materials for the film From the Mind’s Eye. The film was directed by Nigel Noble and produced by Claudia Polley. These interviews and the footage produced were meant to coincide with the exhibition "Self-Taught Artists of the 20th Century: An American Anthology.”
Gerald Kornblau Papers
Gerald Kornblau was an authority on American folk art and a dealer who sold works to private and museum collections. This collection contains reference material on specific objects from the Kornblau Gallery, some of which eventually came to be in the collection of the American Folk Art Museum. Also included is reference material on American folk art painting and sculpture, including rare eighteenth-century manufacturer catalogs of weathervanes and decorative objects.
Gerald Kornblau Photograph Collection
The Gerald Kornblau Photograph Collection is comprised of 806 vernacular photographs and photographic objects. The collection is the result of years of collecting and curating by folk art dealer and photographer Gerald Kornblau.
Groat and Miller Family Bibles and Ephemera
This collection consists of two family bibles, each with family records of births, deaths and marriages, as well as ephemera including photographs, newspaper clippings, a lock of hair, and more. The Groat and Miller family bibles descended with the families, and were given to the Museum with a quilt made by Catherine Miller (1844-?).

Howard Finster created a poster for the 1990 exhibition The Road to Heaven Is Paved by Good Works: The Art of Reverend Howard Finster at the Paine Webber Art Gallery (September 21, 1989-January 5, 1990). This is the original artwork used in the poster.

Jean and Day Krolik Papers
The Jean and Day Krolik Papers contain material related to the Krolik collection of tinsel paintings. The collection contains correspondence with both the Henry Ford Museum and the American Folk Art Museum; an appraisal of the Krolik collection from 1975; articles about tinsel paintings; including some written by Jean Krolik and published in The Clarion, and photographs of some of the paintings in the collection.
Jean Lipman's Little Black Book
Jean Lipman's Little Black Book is a small, four-ring binder that contains Lipman’s handwritten records of the Cooperstown collection, plus article ideas and notes related to Art in America.
