Series III: New York Beauties, 1988 - 1994
Scope and Contents
The New York Beauties Series contains research material for quilts featured in the book New York Beauties , as well as some quilts not included in the book. This material is filed alphabetically in folders titled by alpha-numeric designation (for example, LIHH-1 is Quilt 1 from Hofstra University in Hempstead, Long Island; index included in appendix). The folders contain Quilt Day questionnaires, text and photo-based research related to quilts and quilt-makers, photographs, transparencies and negatives of the images that appear in the book, and correspondence between quilt-lending individuals and institutions. Photographs from Quilt Days, slides used in volunteer training, and photographs used in New York Beauties are also included in this series.
