Scope and Contents From the Collection:

The collection contains primarily photographs and negatives of early American gravestones, taken by Francis Y. Duval and Ivan B. Rigby. The collection also contains 150 plaster casts of gravestones, and a small amount of material related to the exhibitions, journal articles, and books that Duval and Rigby created together.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The collection contains 136 gravestone rubbings, all mounted and ready for hanging. Some of the rubbings are mounted several to a board, and so there is a total of 117 mounted boards. The rubbings were made between 1977 and 1983, and represent gravestones dated 1650 to 1800. This paper charter established the Seymour Camp, no. 9536 in Morgan Center, Vermont, as a local camp of the Modern Woodmen of America on April 22, 1901. The charter includes original signatures and a gold seal with blue ribbon.
