Sub-Series B: Decoys, undated

 Sub-Series
Identifier: Sub-Series B

Scope and Contents

From the Series:

This series is loosely arranged to reflect the order of the collection as a whole. The first two subseries contain photographs from The Art of the Decoy , and photographs related to decoys; the third subseries contains photographs related to Folk Art in America; the fourth contains personal photographs; the fifth, galleries; and lastly, the photographic subject files. Beyond the sub-series, the photographs were largely kept in the order as they were arranged in 1993. The only changes to the arrangement were made to “Published in The Art of the Decoy ”; they are now arranged to reflect the page order of how they were published in the final book, The Art of the Decoy .

Subject files were originally arranged into categories assigned in 1993 or when they were being used as reference while still located at the Stony Point Art Gallery. They remain arranged into these categories, which are then arranged alphabetically; however, some smaller folders have been combined to consolidate the materials. For example, the file “Cats and Dogs” was combined with the file “Cattle” to become “Cats and Dogs – Cattle.”
