This recording was made at husband and wife Ted and Zona Gordon’s apartment in San Francisco and is the first of three parts of the interview. Speakers include: Ted Gordon, Zona Gordon, Chuck Rosenak. At the start of the interview, Zona describes her dolls and artistic practice. Ted and Zona then begin to show Chuck Ted’s drawings and they discuss Ted’s materials and techniques. When Chuck begins to ask Ted biographical questions, Ted reveals that he has done extensive research on Chuck’s life and family ahead of his visit.

This recording was made at husband and wife Ted and Zona Gordon’s apartment in San Francisco and is the second of three parts of the interview. Speakers include: Ted Gordon, Zona Gordon, Chuck Rosenak. Ted describes his childhood in Louisville and New York City, and his upbringing by his grandmother. Ted also describes his process of inhabiting the subjects he draws, including cats, birds, dogs, and other men and women. Throughout the interview, Ted and Zona both urge Chuck to take as many of Ted’s drawings and Zona’s dolls as he would like. Towards the end of the interview, Ted asks that Chuck vow to give all creative credit to Ted as the artist.
