In this recording, Chuck Rosenak interviews Lawrence (Larry) Stinson at his home in [?]. Stinson discusses his childhood growing up on a farm near the Shenandoah River, where there were a lot of carvers in the area. He tells the story of one, John Lentz, who influenced him and motivated him to become a skilled carver. Stinson says, however, that he learned to carve with a penknife through trial and error, as evidenced by the scars on his hands. In the interview, Stinson also discusses the jobs he held throughout his life, his marriage to his wife, and his carving of Adam and Eve.
